Israel and the Diaspora: A Call for Change
Since entering politics, I have been advocating the perspective that the connection with the Jewish Diaspora is a matter of national and strategic importance for the State of Israel. The Israeli government must make a bold yet essential decision to create a new balance—one that enables Jews from all streams of Judaism in the Diaspora to feel a genuine sense of belonging to Israel and view it as a welcoming home.
We must not take the Jewish Diaspora for granted. We need to recognize that different streams of Judaism have different needs, such as in areas of prayer and conversion, and find ways to accommodate these needs within Israel. This will ensure that the Jewish state truly serves as a home for all Jews.
