If it were up to you, Israeli politics would have changed long ago. Given a real choice, you wouldn’t have used the five elections since 2019 to reinstate the same leaders, with the same outdated ideas and old rivalries.

But it’s not up to you. In the 21st century, elected officials have rewritten the rules, ensuring that a once-vibrant and competitive democracy has become an exclusive club – one that is nearly impenetrable to new forces that could challenge their grip on power. They did it in the name of “stability,” and in doing so, they delivered the most turbulent and fragile decade in Israel’s history.

I wrote this book because this reality cannot continue. The system must change. The reckoning, solidarity, and profound lessons we learned after October 7 must lead to political and national renewal.
